
On August 28, a charity run was held in Irpin to draw attention to the renovation of the city and collect funds for the urgent restoration of buildings.
On Sunday, August 28, more than 80 runners ran through the streets of Irpin to draw attention to the renovation of houses destroyed during the russian occupation. The run took place within the charity RENOVATION RUN 2022 ONLINE: Stage Irpin, where the funds for urgent reconstruction are collected. The event was held by the organizer of the largest running events in Ukraine, Run Ukraine, together with the running club from Irpin, Run in Irpin.
“After 3 stages within the series of RENOVATION RUN 2022 ONLINE, we donated UAH 248 344 to the Dobrobat volunteer building division for the renovation of Bucha district, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions. The 4th stage of the series is now underway, where we run and collect funds for the renovation of Irpin. Today’s run is extremely important, because in this way we additionally raise the issue of the fastest possible recovery of the city, and show that thanks to the run, everyone can join the common great cause — the reconstruction of Ukraine,” — said at Run Ukraine.
The participants of the run covered the chosen distance of 8 km or 19 km along the route through the entire city, in order to see the terrible consequences of the war and at the same time feel the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian land, which continues to live despite everything.
“It was a difficult but very important run: we saw with our eyes how much needs to be rebuilt here in Irpin. Today we are once again convinced that every contribution is important and every running kilometer can help restore houses. So together we will certainly make this city and all of Ukraine the way we all want to see them — beautiful and independent,” — said the participants of the run.
