Run Ukraine’s charity project “RENOVATION RUN 2022 ONLINE” collected 541,630 UAH for the urgent reconstruction of war-damaged houses. All collected funds were sent to the Dobrobat volunteer building division.
Participants of the 9 stages of the series of “RENOVATION RUN 2022 ONLINE” ran their distances and together collected funds for the reconstruction of Bucha, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Irpin, Sumy, Mykolaiv, as well as Izium, Balakliia and Kherson, which were recently liberated from the Russian occupiers. The collected 541,630 UAH have already been donated to the charity partner of the project – the Dobrobat volunteer building division for the urgent restoration of houses destroyed by the war. “RENOVATION RUN 2022 ONLINE” brought together 2155 participants, 33 runners took part in all 9 stages and collected a unique collection of medals dedicated to hero cities. The largest number of participants ran for the restoration of Kharkiv — 399 runners, and the most popular distance was 10 km (1,004 participants). Runners from 40 countries took part in the series. The largest numbers of participants were from Ukraine (1855), USA (43), Poland (34), Great Britain (24) and Germany (20).
“The series of “RENOVATION RUN” is extremely important, because this way we additionally raise the issue of the fastest possible reconstruction of destroyed cities, help financially and show that thanks to running, everyone can join the common great cause – the reconstruction of Ukraine. Now the series of races is not over. Together with all Ukrainians, we are waiting for the liberation of Ukrainian cities from the invaders in order to continue the reconstruction of a free and independent Ukraine!” — comments Victoriia Veremiienko from the Run Ukraine team.
